Northern Platforms Ltd was approached by one of our customers and asked to design a removable spill containment system for a bottom transloading operation. By sitting with the customer and listening to their concerns and understanding their needs, Northern Platforms Ltd came up with a fit for purpose solution.

A light-weight aluminum removable spill pan system was designed. The removable pan is approximately 8’-0” wide x 8’-0” long x 8” deep and was designed to hold approximately 40 CU FT of liquid. The container pan has forklift pockets so that the pan can be easily put in place and removed by a forklift or skid steer. The pan was covered with FRP grating which provided a safe and comfortable work area for the operator to make their connection with the bottom of the tankcar. Each side of the pan has a 3” cam and groove coupling c/w cap so that in the event of a spill, a hose can be easily hooked up to the pan system and allow it to be drained.
